GTPL Hathway is one of India's leading Cable TV and Broadband service providers. Their Digital Cable TV services reach an estimated 8 million households in over 500 cities across India. It is the largest MSO in Gujarat with a 67% share of the Cable TV market and is the second largest player in the cable market of Kolkata and Howrah with a 24% market share. It has a significant presence in all other markets that it operates in.
In Jan 2020 TRAI (Telecom Regulatory Authority of India) promulgated New Tariff Order (NTO 2.0) which mandated a new a-la-carte subscription regime for consumers to subscribe to channels of their choice. This meant that service providers like GTPL would have 10x heavier workload on their IT infrastructure. The legacy system of GTPL was not equipped for this additional stress of GTPL, and sought help from their trusted service providers- BeyonData.
